SRA is Accredited Lung Cancer Screening Center
Southtowns Radiology received full accreditation from the American College of Radiology for low-dose CT lung cancer screening scans. These scans screen high-risk patients for lung cancer using one short CT scan using a low dose of radiation. Early detection can save lives and lead to better outcomes for patients. The U.S. Preventative Task Force recommends annual lung cancer screening for patients that fit the following criteria:
- Between the ages of 55-80
- Have smoked 30 or more pack years (one pack per day for 30 years)
- Current smokers or those who have quit within the last 15 years
- Does not have a history of pulmonary nodule, lung cancer or suspicious findings on past chest X-rays
Talk with your doctor about whether you might be a candidate for this screening test. For more information visit our Lung Cancer Screening webpage.
